You might think from the title that I am talking about “higher education”: that debt-creating machine we call University (we don’t actually really call it University in America, but I have always liked the sound of that from my UK friends. Truthfully, I don’t actually have many friends from the kingdom on the other side of the pond, but I’ve heard it called University it in t.v. and movies, and I love how it sounds! I GOT IT FROM THE BOOB TUBE. Let’s move on!).
My interest lies in K-12 education. I am working out my thoughts on how quality primary & secondary education can save our country. My feelings aren’t linear, sometimes much to my husband’s chagrin, but I am going to lay them out here over the course of the next few days and possibly weeks. I am very much interested in having a thought-provoking conversation on how we can or cannot implement changes to our local and state systems of education. Even with some good schools in any one area, there are a hell of a lot of schools around that are not. Keep an eye out for my additional posts!
