Decades ago (unbelievable!), a friend of mine told me he loved toast. He looked forward to waking up so he could enjoy toast before work. He liked his sandwich bread toasted. He loved toast as a base for something with gravy. He was in love with toast, and I thought his preferred food was absurd. So many other delicious foods over which to salivate! Since being gluten-free for the last couple of years, I’ve been thinking a lot about toast. 

Dang, I miss a good slice of toast.
